The Prince of Wales will meet flood victims during a visit to south Wales later. Storm Dennis hit more than 1,000 homes and businesses in Rhondda Cynon Taff alone after heavy rain last week. Prince Charles will visit Pontypridd town centre, parts of which were left under water after days of rain. As the clean-up continues, more warnings for heavy rain have been issued, starting on Friday, in parts of mid and north Wales. WRU pledge £100,000 for rugby clubs devastated by Storm Dennis as collection planned for Wales Six Nations match 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿💼🏉📰

The WRU have drawn up an action plan to support rugby clubs around Wales affected by Storm Dennis, setting the ball rolling with a £100,000 fighting fund. A number of clubs were seriously affected by flooding caused by the storm, including the likes of Bedwas, Blackwood, Cross Keys, Rumney and Newport HSOB. Train services face being severely disrupted over the weekend as rain and gales hit Wales.  Storm Ciara will bring gusts of up to 75mph (121k/ph) on Saturday – with rain and gales on Sunday as Storm Ciara hits. The Met Office has extended its yellow warning for wind on Saturday to cover most counties in north Wales and parts of Ceredigion and Powys. Many of Sunday’s train services have already been cancelled.
