The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said yesterdayโ€™s figures also showed the economy grew by 1.4% in 2019, marginally higher than the 1.3% recorded in 2018. England won back the Calcutta Cup and kept their Six Nations title hopes alive with a turgid victory over Scotland in awful weather conditions. Ellis Genge scored the only try with 10 minutes remaining as driving rain and strong gusts made for a disrupted, error-ridden contest at Murrayfield. This result meant Scotland fell short of a third-straight Calcutta Cup, but England climb level on points with second-placed Wales, four adrift of unbeaten leaders Ireland (with France v Italy still to play).
