This Big Dozen Steps Formula was inspired during the Lockdown period after I heard a presentation by Jairek Robbins, son of Tony Robbins on his five steps to happiness formula, that got me working on my own Happiness formula, which in turn lead on to me coming up with a success formula, which in turn lead on to the development of the Big Dozen Steps to Elite Business Performance!
The formula come to me as I was currently experiencing massive happiness and massive success whilst in Lockdown and I started to think and analyse why that was?
The Big Dozen Steps to Elite Performance Formula consists of my SMART Happiness Formula and my STREAMS Success Formula combined.
Therefore the Big Dozen Steps to Elite Business Performance can also be known as the SMART STREAMS Formula. I believe that Operating consistently on the SMART STREAMS formula can put you in to full flow in life and in you chosen career or profession.
So now it’s time to get in to full flow with SMART STREAMS…
The SMART STREAMS Elite Performance formula consist of the following 12 parts (or Dozen Steps)!
SLEEP | MEDITATION | ABILITY TO PERFORM| RANDOM KINDNESS | TARGETS | SYSTEMS | TECHNOLOGY | RELATIONSHIPS | EFFICIENCY | ACTION | MARKETING | SALES
My Formula, consistent with Jairek’s formula, requires you to regularly have a good night sleep. I have been a consistent performer throughout my life and I believe regularly having my 7 to 8 hours of sleep per night has helped me, with this consistency. Jairek Robbins says that you should have 7.5 hours to 8 hours of sleep a night and I would agree as an average but I know that I’m also fine to perform on 7 hours of sleep and am also aware that I can get away with less sleep on the odd occasion as long as I have a catch-up sleep on the following evening etc. And that shouldn’t affect your performance or you happiness to much but this should only be occasional and not regular.
MEDITATION or MINDFULNESS
Jairek Robbins says that you need to be doing two 30 minutes of meditation a day in order to be in your peak happiness zone and I wouldn’t disagree that this is optimum but I was in my peak happiness, and wasn’t actually doing any meditation at the time although I have since started. However I was regularly riding my bike around the bay where I live and this was allowing me to be mindful and collect my thoughts etc. So although I believe that meditation can really help you in your pursuit of happiness I also believe you can get there by just regularly giving your mind a chance to rest, ease off all of the thought processes, collect it’s thoughts, reset and get ready to go again. I also believe that regularly writing your thoughts down on paper can do a similar things as they are not constantly swirling around in your head then causing you concentration issues etc.
ABILITY TO PERFORM
In Jairek’s Formula he has Exercise for 30 minutes a day but I believe you need to protect your ability to perform. This will include regular exercise to ensure that you are fit and healthy but you also need to look after your diet and ensure that you are eating well and you need to look after your health and make sure that you are not ill. All of this affects your ability to perform and if you keep fit and healthy it will have an affect on your ability to perform and on your happiness. You can be happy for a while without having to exercise, and look after yourself but it will be short term, as your ability to perform will be affected longer term. Also exercising regularly releases endorphins which have a biological happiness effect on your body and your mind and Eating well can also have a massive effect on your body and your mind and the ability to sustain how you feel for the longer term. I would also had getting plenty of air and sunlight in to the mix here as air and oxygen can keep your ability to perform high as can getting some great vitamin D on your skin from getting out doors and especially when the sun in shining.
Being kind or performing random acts of kindness produces oxytocin in our body and in our mind which not only makes us feel good but also those who we are kind to and anyone who has observed that kindness. Therefore being kind to others and doing random acts of kindness or even just observing random acts of kindness can make us feel good and contribute to our happiness. Not only doing this will make you happy but I believe that what goes around comes around, so it will ensure that others are kind to you to and that good things are more likely to happen to you, which all can contribute to your happiness. Therefore if you start the ball rolling and be kind to people and start the process this is going to have an effect on your happiness, especially in the longer terms as all the acts of kings ness get brought back to you over time.
TARGETS / TARGET ACHIEVEMENT
Jairek Robbins teaches the importance of having a goal or something nice to aim for as part of his Happiness formula, as the anticipation and excitement of this can increase your happiness and I would agree with that but I also believe that you can be even happier by having lots of short, medium and long term targets / goals and by you regularly achieving and hitting these targets. Jairek says that booking a holiday is a great goal to set and even if you don’t end up going on the holiday you would massively benefit from the anticipation and excitement of arranging and booking the holiday and the anticipation that you would receive from looking forward to that holiday. I would add that if you actually have a massive target, such as achieving your life goal, ambition or dream, then that would give you a life time of anticipation and excitement and then if you were to set lots of smaller, medium sized targets in place which were things that you needed to achieve prior to making the big one happen then you could look forward to achieving those stepping stones that are on the way to achieving your big target and can benefit from the anticipation of achieving more things and from the happiness of actually hitting those targets more often, whilst you worked on the big target. If you then broke those medium targets down in to lots of smaller targets, (daily VCV and weekly targets etc.) you can have so many targets to achieve that you have an abundance of anticipation as well as massive surges in happiness as you tick off and achieve those smaller goals, so regularly and consistently.
In order to become successful and efficient in life and in business, you need to follow or create a successful system to follow. Following a system or a formula means that you can easily repeat what is working and over time, you can switch on your autopilot in order to get things done without the exertion of too much effort on your behalf.
If you embrace Technology the use of that technology will make you more successful than you could ever be without the use of that Technology. Technology has been created to solve problems, increases efficiency and do things that us humans can not do, so embracing it and utilising it, will increase the amount of work that we can do, as well as the amount of people that we can reach and so much more. Being scared of technology and hiding away from it and it’s thousands of uses is affecting your success.
RELATIONSHIPS | RELATIONSHIP BUILDING | NETWORKING
You are guaranteed to become more successful in life and in business if you can cultivate and grow fantastic relationships. All top Entrepreneurs say that your “Network is your Net-worth” and “Team Work Makes The Dream Work” and your network and your team as well as your client list are all built up using relationship building techniques. Your never going to be as successful in life as you could be without solid relationships in place with people who care about you and your success so you have to constantly work on the building of these relationships.
Time is one of the most important commodities on the planet and the utilising of your time in the best way can massively impact your success. Therefore if you can do everything that you need to do on a daily basis in the most efficient way possible you can “buy yourself” more time. I believe that learning to do things more efficiently is one of the biggest ways that all people can instantly become more successful, so sit down and think about everything that you do and how you can improve the efficiency in order to free up more time for doing other things and see where this gets you!
No matter how happy you feel or how much you work on improving your chances of success none of it will happen without taking action and not just some action. In order to be the most successful version of you that you can be, then you need to take massive action. Your activity levels need to go through the roof. If your taking action at the moment but it’s not getting you anywhere then you need to assess whether it’s the right action or whether you need to up the pace. Success can be a numbers game so if your having a moderate success at the moment then increasing the action and the activity can have a quick impact in your success levels but it takes maximum effort and energy to operate at these higher levels and you need to look after yourself to ensure you don’t get burn out.
A huge part of any success these days is the ability to Market yourself, your brand, your business, your products or your solution. Increasing your Marketing Skills and Increasing your Marketing Activity is a sure fire way of improving your success levels. If you are not comfortable with Marketing then you need to address your self limiting beliefs or the belief you have in the product or service that you provide or the business that you run etc. If you believe in what you are doing then you will have no problem with sharing that to the world so if you are having issues with your marketing these limiting belief issues must be dealt with. If you are not doing enough marketing due to technical issues or a fear of technology itself then you need to address this and learn how to master the thing that you are currently afraid of. The only way to master something is by using it a lot and working it out for yourself or by being taught by someone who has already done that and can pass on the lessons to you. Either way tackling the issue is a must. In life and in business it is often the most known person, product or business that beats the best person, product or business in all sectors so marketing is key to becoming the most known in your sector!
The ability to sell is so important to the success of anyone in all aspects of life including business life. Whether it’s getting a partner, building a network, building a team or building a client database, your ability to sell will have a massive impact on the success levels of those activities. If you can sell people on your vision, on your ability to pull it off, on the benefits of the situation (the product, the service, the relationship, the solution, the hire, whatever), then you can get other people’s buy in, which can get you what you want and make you much more successful.
